Generally, the stories in which the protagonist, finds success, despite the circumstances, tend to like. If apart from this, the story includes motorcycles, fast motorcycles, ... very very fast ..... automatically earn an entry in this blog;-)
In general, almost alba un petroleum jelly everyone likes movies from the underdog that is at the bottom of the barrel, but ultimately slice last the cake is eaten, it gets the girl, even with all the money and uncovers full of kings with aces when you pull the last card ... completely unaware of the history of Burt Munro. Friday night, a couple of packages of popcorn, rootbeer huge glass filled with ice, air conditioning to 25 degrees, phone off, Netflix, and the first suggestion of movies I have not seen is The world's fastest indian with Anthony Hopkins as the protagonist ... (PLAY ) Burt Munro, was a runner modified motorcycles, type Café Racer, alba un petroleum jelly which happened modifying and perfecting a 1920 Indian Scout model (!) for 25 years (!!) to break the record for the category of minor 1000cc motorcycles in Bonneville Flats in Utah in 1967 (!!!), with special trip from New Zealand (!!!!), with a whopping 68 years old Mr. (Triple! And WTF!). The film is accurate in general events about the records. But reading his life is very different from the real Burt profile. In the movie we have a kindly grandfather and everybody alba un petroleum jelly like him, half deaf, and everybody wants to help, let us grandfather, alba un petroleum jelly go ... Actually it was a self-sufficient alba un petroleum jelly person who conducted the pursuit of dream a planned manner. Before alba un petroleum jelly making the journey of the world record, had already alba un petroleum jelly visited the place a year earlier to observe the terrain and know nearby, and went there 9 times, leaving 3 world records. one of them even without breaking but either because they decided to "freeze *" the record in time, it looks like a tribute to the tenacity alba un petroleum jelly of man. Burt Munro was a self-taught engineer who devoted much of his time to run and perfect motorcycles, had a Douglas and Clyno with sidecar. Eventually he acquired his favorite bike, the Indian, alba un petroleum jelly which amended in 1926, changing the pistons that the same molded into cans, changed the pistons, cylinders, alba un petroleum jelly lubrication system, and gillnet use the same build. He even designed a 4-stroke engine to replace the original 2-stroke. the "Munro special", which has been modified with the Indian cap (fairing) fiberglass.
Some original images Burt running to beat their records, and some footage from the front of his bike, the cation is Billy Idol (I especially like the scene of Burt zipping up his jacket bombardier type slowly ..)
There is a documentary, which as you find it and will comment ea v .... something called "Burt Munro. Offerings to the God of Speed, directed by Roger Donaldson The story that appears in the film, that had a shelf full of engines and streams and poorly molded heads and pistons and other parts, and somewhere scored Ledge "offerings to the gods of speed" is reported as true. The movie quote also this at the beginning of this post you can see that out loud at the end by Burt own. And I could not agree more. Records. In 1962 he placed the record at 288 km / h with its modified 850cc engine. In 1963 SITUO the record at 270 476 km / h 168,066 mph. In 1967 the engine was modified up to 950cc and placed the record 295.44 km / h. To qualify made a career of one direction to 322.96 km / h, the maximum speed at which officially has been a Indian.volvio a record nine times and 1967 bikes under 1000 cc even still be overcome. * Its record you can see here. http://www.scta-bni.org/Bonneville/BNI_records.htm
