Welcome to Dr. Dan s blog! We’ll be using this space to explain how our skin care products can help you in your daily lives. We will also include skin care tips from Dr. Dan Viders, along with new information in the field of dermatology.
Let s start with CortiBalm, our first and most well known product. I developed CortiBalm because I was tired of patients suffering when they had to be on Accutane. It bothered me because I knew, while my patients were on Accutane, their lips were going to be a problem chubby stick moisturizing lip colour balm and there was nothing that I could recommend that would bring them relief. I started researching lip balms on the web and I was amazed to find out that almost all of the lip balms available had ingredients that actually would make your lips worse. This fact really upset me and I started on my mission to develop a lip balm that would heal the most damaged lips while being safe enough for daily use. As a dermatologist I knew the many benefits of hydrocortisone and how effective it was for healing skin so I started there.
After years of testing I finally came to the realization that simplicity was the key. I asked my self what ingredients were available that I knew aided in the healing of skin and aided in the prevention of drying the skin. It was difficult, but I finally decided chubby stick moisturizing lip colour balm that the final formula would consist of just four (4) ingredients: 1% hydrocortisone, filtered yellow beeswax, mineral oil, and petroleum jelly. I spent the next couple of months refining the formula and came up with the final formulation for CortiBalm. I felt so strongly about its effectiveness and the unique way it healed that I submitted chubby stick moisturizing lip colour balm it to the United States patent office. I was over joyed that they felt the same way I did and they granted me a US patent.
After all of the testing I had done to develop CortiBalm, I was 100% sure of its effectiveness. Against the advice of many, I started offering CortiBalm with a 100% money back guarantee. I have long suffered from pet allergies. This past winter the allergies went from bad to worse. One of my eyes, for some unknown reason, had begun to water CONSTANTLY, causing me to rub and wipe my eye all day long. My makeup would run and I was frustrated with the irritation. Eventually, the top and bottom eyelid developed severe dry patches that were incredibly unsightly. Trying to combat this, I used tweezers to peel off the flakes of skin and I was applying and re-applying moisturizer about every hour or so (had to keep redoing it as my eye was still watering like crazy). Additionally, I was popping antihistamines daily.
This went on for about 2 months . I tried every type of moisturizing product I could get my hands on, but the patches got worse and my eyelids were now swelling up. I have obsessive compulsive disorder and obsessive skin picking also known as dermatillomania where I have a compulsion of picking at and biting at my lips due to stress and anxiety. Many times I find myself picking at my lips until they are bleeding, causing them to be in very bad shape.

What was your first job? I started as an assistant to the editor-in-chief at Ebony magazine. She took me under her wing and gave me opportunities to take on greater responsibilities very early in my career. I eventually transitioned into a role where I built the beauty and style department there and learned a ton along the way. But my first job in life? Who are some of your career heroes? every boss I've ever had challenged me, me, believed dr burt in me, and lead by example. This creates a work environment that empowers and really rewarding as a creative person. I divide my time between writing and editing copy, meeting dr burt with as many as 15 Beauty brands week to learn about new releases, filming TV segments or new episodes of Teen Vogue's video channel, working on set for photo shoots ... or racing to catch a flight to interview Rihanna in Barbados (clear that last one is nothing but an ordinary day!). Describe your office decor. What was your inspiration? My office is definitely an extension of my personality. I spend more time here than elsewhere, so it is important that it reflects my style and it's an inspiring dr burt place to think.
